SMRT has established the following timeline for the nomination process. Dates listed below are for the 2017 Calendar year.

July 31 Call for Nominations is provided to the membership with a deadline for submissions of close of business, September 15.
September 18-22 Nominations are reviewed by SMRT staff. Individuals who meet the eligibility requirements are provided with an online link to the written application, reference form and the guide for nominees.
September 29 Deadline for nominees to submit applications and supporting information
October 16-27 Telephone interviews are conducted with qualified candidates by members of the SMRT Awards and Nominations Committee.
October 30-Nov 03 The Awards and Nominations Committee meets via teleconference to review candidate application materials, results of phone interviews and reference letters. After careful deliberation, the committee selects candidates for the President-Elect and Board members and reports to the President and Associate Executive Director no later than November 4.
By November 08 Ballot is opened to membership for vote of proposed candidates.
December 08 Membership vote for President-Elect and Board members closes.
December 11-14 Votes are verified by office staff.
December 15 Elected President-Elect and Board members are notified by President and Associate Executive Director.
