2019 President-Elect & Policy Board Nominations Timeline
SMRT has established the following timeline for the nomination process. Dates listed below are for the 2018 Calendar year.
03 August | Call for Nominations is provided to the membership with a deadline for submissions of close of business, September 14. |
17-21 September | Nominations are reviewed by SMRT staff. Individuals who meet the eligibility requirements are provided with an online link to the written application, reference form and the guide for nominees. |
28 September | Deadline for nominees to submit applications and supporting information |
15-26 October | Telephone interviews are conducted with qualified candidates by members of the SMRT Awards and Nominations Committee. |
29 Oct-02 Nov | The Awards and Nominations Committee meets via teleconference to review candidate application materials, results of phone interviews and reference letters. After careful deliberation, the committee selects candidates for the President-Elect and Board members and reports to the President and Associate Executive Director no later than November 6. |
By 12 November | Ballot is opened to membership for vote of proposed candidates. |
07 December | Membership vote for President-Elect and Board members closes. |
10 December | Votes are verified by office staff. |
11 December | Elected President-Elect and Board members are notified by President and Associate Executive Director. |
